The impact that is Music

Music, one of the things that everyone can enjoy. It can be inappropriate at times or to people of certain ages, but there is truly something out there for everyone. I have tried to protect people from musics influences, but its never been someone my age. I've worked with children for the past three years and have noticed that certain songs meanings go over their heads. One specific time I was watching a few kids at my job and one of the girls, who was about 7 or 8 at the time, started to sing a song. Now the song to a child doesn't sound bad at all, but to someone who knew what it all meant it sounds terrible coming from a child. The song was Ride by Somo. If you've heard the song you know its about sex. The lyrics are talking about taking off heels and pulling hair in parts of it. When i heard her sing this song I immediately told her to stop and explained that it was an inappropriate song that she shouldn't be singing. I wanted to protect her from what she was singin

Banned books and Magazines

The amount of banned and challenged books shocked me. I did recognized a few of the books including Looking for Alaska by John Green, Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L James, and The Holy Bible. I am not a very religious person but the fact that it was on the list did surprise me. I do understand why it could be a problem though. I believe that there should be limits on books for schools but i feel like some of these books shouldn't be banned. For instance i don't believe that the Captain Underpants series should have been banned because I've seen how interested kids are with those books and watch children who hate reading finish the series in a matter of weeks when they dont read at all. In all honesty i own about two books and they were both given to me by family member. The only book out of those two that i've read any of is Looking for Alaska by John Green, but i haven't read enough to know what it really is about. Three magazines that i've read have been Cosmop

News and the President

The news is part of our daily lives whether its from friends, family or some form of social media. News is everywhere. For me I mainly hear about the news from my friends, family and facebook. When I hear something that I find interesting or that I simply want to know more about I will look it up online and double check the facts. When I do this I look for cites that end in .org or a cite that I know like the statesman journal. If I cannot find anymore information on it then I will believe the news to be incorrect or fake. I do not subscribe to any online reporting operations for a few reasons. The main reason is that I simply cannot afford to do so. I live on a tight budget and those types of subscriptions aren't a necessity for me. Another reason is that I can find plenty of articles for free if I want to look up any news. To me I don't see the worth because of how many cites don't charge you to view the content of it. If I were to rate myself on a scale of one to five ab
